Stacey Leadbeatter is a singer who reached the Final and placed 11th in Series 18 of Britain’s Got Talent. She was aged 29 at the time of her audition, worked in a supermarket and hailed from Yorkshire.
Before her performance, she stated that her daughter was excited about her audition as she loved the show. Leadbeatter later explained that she cooked chickens in the supermarket that she worked at and that she’s only sang at a pub before coming on the show.
In her audition, Leadbeatter performed a rendition of Leona Lewis’ cover of ‘Run’ by Snow Patrol. With some encouragement from the audience, KSI pressed his Golden Buzzer, sending Leadbeatter directly onto the Semi-Finals. Simon commented ‘You’re lacking a bit of confidence and you shouldn’t because you really, really are good’, with KSI adding ‘I was in awe, I had to press that Golden Buzzer [as] you absolutely smashed it’.
In the Semi-Finals, Leadbeatter performed a rendition of ‘Anyone’ by Demi Lovato. Amanda remarked ‘I thought you nailed that [and] I just don’t know where you find the courage’, with Alesha adding ‘You picked a very difficult song to sing [and] you made it your own’. She won the Public Vote and advanced directly onto the Final.
In the Final, Leadbeatter performed a rendition of ‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams. Amanda remarked ‘It was really nice to hear a version sang by a woman [as] I’ve never heard Angels sang by a woman before’, with Bruno adding ‘I thought that there was like a direction there and you did it very well’.
