James Miller SOARS with ‘Defying Gravity’ from Wicked! | Auditions | BGT 2026

James Miller is a singer who reached the Semi-Finals of Series 19 of Britain’s Got Talent. He was aged 12 and was a schoolboy at the time of his audition. He hailed from Rye, East Sussex. When asked if he was feeling confident, he confessed to feeling a bit nervous.

In his audition, Miller performed a rendition of ‘Defying Gravity’ from Wicked. KSI remarked ‘I felt like I was watching a Disney kids show, you just absolutely blew everyone away’, with Stacey adding ‘My favourite part of your voice is your falsetto [and] that was absolutely incredible’.

In the Semi-Finals, Miller performed a rendition of ‘The Explorer & The Bear’ from Paddington: The Musical whilst nearby a teddy bear on the stage. Alesha remarked ‘I thought that was a really clever song choice [and] I think you are a star’, with Amanda adding ‘Your voice is just through the roof brilliant’. He placed 3rd in the Public vote below both Jake Banfield and The Hawkstone Farmers Choir.
